So sorry to here about Allan’s passing. I met Allan whilst working with the Sector Skills Council on glass-related qualifications and Apprenticeships. Allan was a true professional who knew his industry well – it was great to witness his passion for qualifications - a loss to the industry.

I knew Allan for only a few years, since I joined Proskills in 2009. However, I always respected Allan's frankness, opennes and honesty and enjoyed working with him. A;;am supported the development of niche qualifications, helping many parts of manufacturing that other awarding bodies had given up on. Its such a huge loss both to industry and more improtantly to Allan's family, and my thoughts are with them.

Very hard to accept that Allan has gone. I knew him for many years dating back to GTL, the forerunner of GQA, and always found him very helpful, and always willing to find time for you. He gave me (and many more) an opportunity at GQA, for which i am extremely grateful.
The remation service for him was very moving, thank you to his family for sharing this with us. It underlined how much he will be missed, and brought home just how many people he had influenced in his life.
Rest in peace Allan, it was good knowing you.
