I can remember Allan from the early 90s when Auto Windscreens first got involved with NVQs, Allan at the time as with GTL, he was a very friendly person and got on with everyone but in saying that he was most professional about his work and if you were not on the mark he would talk and suport you to get it right and get it where you should be. I remember that when Allan visited on his quarterly EV monitoring visit I must always get the biscuits in mixed both plain and chocolate, the first half hour would be about his family then the next 5 or 6 hours would be down to business, he was very professional about the visit and very supportive. We both worked on developing NVQ level 3 for Automotive glazing, i think with my practical knowledge and Allan's vast knowledge on the qualifications side and his personality that made it a pleasure to work with him. I personally have a lot to thank Allan Murray for he gave me the knowledge and confidence to develop my skills in assessing and then moving on to internal verifier, i have the upmost respect for Allan and what he stood for.
