A Memory from North Lancs

Created by Graham Wright 10 years ago
Allan was instrumental in assisting North Lancs Training Groups efforts to establish glass related qualifications. He had a very co-operative approach and had the motivation to develop the qualifications through small businesses where there were many young persons employed. The photo is the first group of youngsters to achieve the qualification at that time in conjunction with a “day release” course at Blackburn College. Without Allan’s help I doubt that NLTG would be the first Training Provider to do this and helping so many persons since 1991 achieve Glass/PVCu awards. I was proud to be associated with Allan, GTL and GQA and gained much satisfaction from our combined pioneering efforts during those early days. Although I did not have much contact with Allan in recent years, I reflect upon those days with much fondness and i am certain he will be sadly missed throughout the Glass Industry. R.I.P.
